After a very busy first few months of fundraising, the team at Emily’s Gift are delighted to announce that payment for the first years salary has now been made to NHS Gloucestershire and recruitment of the psychologist for the Emily Kent Unit is now underway.

This is a huge milestone for Emily’s Gift, but there is still much to be done to reach our target of £500,000.

Since our launch in March this year, there has been an overwhelming response to Emily’s Gift from generous people and businesses throughout Gloucestershire. Many local businesses have pledged £2,000 to the appeal. Individuals, families and groups of friends are showing their support by joining the ‘£2k challenge’ to raise £2,000 by 10 March 2024 by climbing mountains, running marathons, wing walking and skydiving to name a few.

We hope that this support and generosity will continue, particularly as we head into September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
